Now let's bring you up to speed here on what's been going on....

I (mike) have been jamming out with a few people but nothing thus far has clicked. But that's ok for now.
Tomorrow (December 23rd) I am actually auditioning for rhythm guitar in the local band Stik Figure. Hopefully everything goes great with that. Regardless what happens I am still going to try and keep Deprived alive. If I make it into Stik Figure, this will become a side project band. If all fails tomorrow night, this will become once again my main focus. I personally just want to get the fuck back out on the scene and play again. But again, no fear. Either way this band will continue forward into the future!!

As far as what Rich and Ian are doing now........

They have their own little thing going on right now. Some sort of Experimental Hippie Rock thing. I'm not quite sure nor personally do I care. We have split and we now focus on what each other wants. We are all still friends and still talk, but as far as reuniting, highly doubtful. I'm not sure if they'd want to or not, but I personally don't want it to happen. Sad to say, but it's true.

So I will keep everyone posted on what's going on from time to time. So in the meantime, I have been talked into by many people to put the pictures back up. So because I'm such a nice guy, and it's almost Christmas time (the season for giving), you can all have what u want. Pictures are back up.

I also will be adding some lyrics to some songs we played live, but I never had the opportunity to post. Still untitled and some unfinished, but they will be posted.

Very sad news I'm bringing you today. Yet, everything will work out in the end...
As of last night, Ian and Rich departed Deprived. So as of right now it is just myself (mike). But I'm not about to give up on this band. I am in the midst of recruiting new members to recreat this band and take it to new heights. So there is going to be and indefinate hiatus while I find, teach, and create new music with whomever I find to continue on this band with. This is just a bump in the road which will be overcome.
There is still a very limited amount of merchandise left for sale thru the merch page, some stuff will be re-worked around here and there of course, and the mp3's will remain up. Please feel free to sign our guestbook from time to time, or address your concerns HERE.

Sorry for the lack of updates lately. I have been very busy as of late.
A few things...
1. Don't forget we have a show on September 27th. For any information u might need and/or want on the show, go to the shows page.
2. I (mike) will be going back into the studio in a few weeks to redo some vocal tracks for the CD. Then I will also be sitting down with my producer and engineer and mastering the enitre disc. If everything comes out the way I am hoping it does, the CD will finally be released.
...and 3. We are currently having tryouts for a 2nd guitar player. So if all goes well, we will have our man... or woman! So also keep posted on any additional line-up changes the band may encounter.

Sadly I am bringing you the news that the show on Saturday the 24th has in fact been cancelled.
We are working on booking more shows in between now and the Monster Magnet show which is still on in September. So please be patient and take care.

July 16, 2004 -
New Show Dates!!
1st on is on Saturday July 24th at Crocodile Rock Cafe in Allentown, PA. This will be a Battle of the Bands competition. The show will be starting at Noon. It's an all-ages event and tickets are $5 under 21, and $5 for 21 and over.
So please, come on out and support us and let's make it a memorable Battle shall we :)
2nd show date will be in September. I'm not quite sure all the details as of now, but we WILL be opening for Monster Magnet at Croc's. All further details will be given when we receive them.
Also, this site has been re-vamped a little bit here and there. A lot of info on each member has finally been updated. And dead links have been deleted. Also added a few new links in.

Hello one and all!!!

It's been a long time since I've written a letter to you, our fans. But I just wanted to fill everyone in on the status of Deprived and what's been going on in these past few months.

First of all, to all the people that won a free copy of our CD, please be patient. We are working very hard to get enough money together to get this out to you guys.

Now, in these past few months since the recording ended, a few odds and ends have been happening with the band. We have started really focusing on what needed to improve in this band. When we took our break last year, we got so sick of eachother by December, we thought about breaking up. We were so completely sick of eachother. Mostly from practicing and re-writing, and just gnawing eachothers heads off about what we wanted from our songs we were rewriting and new ones we were writing. But when we came back in January to Croc's, it made it all worth it. After playing in front of that crowd again, and seeing that all of our hard work had paid off, we knew we had to make this work.

So during this break, we have all made ammence. We have picked up where we left off b4. We have been rewritting a lot of old tunes. They are sounding better and better each and every time we play them. Ian is doing a whole hell of a lot more back-up vocal work of these songs too. Plus, we've been working on even more new songs which we can't wait to debut. We have fast, heavy songs, we have slow melodic songs, to everything in between. And we even are working on one where we pull Rich out from behind the drumset to to some vocal work, throw Ian on the guitar, and I (Mike) finally get to concentrate solely on my vocals. We've been throwing it around, and hope to debut it when it's completed.

But as for now, no shows are currently booked. We do apologize and we hope to see u out there soon enough!! We are all looking forward to playing out again, especially after the reaction we had last time. And I promise you, if you loved us b4, you will love us even more when we arrive back on the scene.

So until I write again, take care and keep and eye out for updates and/or show dates.

Well today sucked total ass!!! First off, we went up last night to camp out b4 today's show. Well it started raining last night and our tent just happened to leak like a son of a bitch last night, so we woke up completely soaked. Then we find out there are no facilities there. So no taking a shower. Which sucked even more b/c our clothes were all wet, and we were fuckin cold.
Then to top it all off, the rain wouldn't stop so the entire event was cancelled!!! Pissed us off to no extent. The weather pissed us all off. So we apologize to any and all fans that may have traveled out to find us not around and nothing there. We are in the midst of booking more shows, so be PATIENT.

April 5, 2004 -
Today marks a very sad day in music history. It was 10 years ago this very day that we lost Kurt Donald Cobain. The voice of a generation. So please, light a candle in memory of him. And also, light one for Layne Thomas Staley whom we lost 2 years ago this very day as well.
Both musicians are missed dearly.

March 13, 2004 -
Sorry for the lack of updates, I left for vacation on the 9th. Anyways...
The EP is 90% completed as of now!!! We went in, laid down 5 tracks instead of 4, so now it's a 5-song EP, and the vocals got laid down. On the 8th it was sent out for mastering. So we should see the EP back in the studio in a week or so. Then we'll all go over it, fix things if need be, then it's all ours. So we figure til everything is said and done, the EP should be in our hands by the end of this month or early April. But unfortunately until all artwork gets printed up, and all sorts of other happy hose-shit, you probably won't see and/or get a copy until mid-May. Sorry for the delay, but you will all be happy with what you will be getting. All good things come in time!!

Tons of news today......
We begin recording of our 4-song EP on March 7th. When the EP is completed we will be throwing a record release party. Most likely in April and most likely at Crocodile Rock Cafe in Allentown, PA. So stay tuned for that.
Also, a mailing list only contest recently ended. We were giving away 10 free copies of our EP when it comes out. Pays to be on our mailing list sometimes. So if you want to sign up, do so!!
Updated Mike's photo's. Pretty much just organized the pics from most recent to the oldest. Going to be doing this to all the photos in the near future.
Added a brand new photo on the main page. When all the new photo's from a recent photo shoot are completed, the photo's will be added to the Pictures section.

First thing's first, I'd like to take this time out to thank each and every person out at Crocodile Rock's last night. You's really made us feel right at home. It's been so long since we've played live. But after last night's crowd reaction to our new song and our tweakings to our old songs, we will most def be booking a lot more shows. Deprived would like to wish all of our fans a belated Merry Christmas, Happy Chaunakah, and a Happy New Year. Deprived is back in full gear and ready to play again. We have booked a show on January 22nd out at Crocodile Rock Cafe with Cherry Fix (aka Trinity). We would like to see all our old and new fans out there welcoming us back out onto the scene since we last played in August. Deprived has been working hard writing new and harder material as well as "beefing" up some of our old tunes. This is going to be a big show for us as well!! There will be Sony Record executives out at this show. So come show your support. Who knows, u fans could make all the difference. If you support us enough, hell, we may get ourselves a record deal!!
